Life always makes sure to surprise us. But as surprised as this American expectant mother was to be a part of it, only a few will be.

Lyndsey Altice gave birth to twins, but she only found out she was pregnant with two babies after the first child was already born!

The mother of one child was very happy when she found out she was expecting a child again. She knew in advance that she wanted to give birth at home, in water, just as she had given birth to her first child. However, things took an unexpected turn during pregnancy. Lyndsey suffered a lot during the 9 months.

She was plagued with ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ ᴍᴏʀɴɪɴɢ sɪᴄᴋɴᴇss and was up and in bed for a whole month with sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇ ᴍɪɢʀᴀɪɴᴇs. Not a single medical professional, not even a chiropractor, could alleviate her complaints, but she made it through. She endured the ᴘᴀɪɴ because she knew that her newborn child would make up for everything. Since she wanted a 100% natural birth, she didn’t even go for an ultrasound.

She tracked the baby using a home heart rate monitor. When she entered her third trimester, her midwife thought the fetus was breech, so Lyndsey went to her chiropractor to help her and the baby switch positions; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to have a home birth.

After that, the baby seemed to move, and after a few days, the ᴀᴍɴɪᴏᴛɪᴄ ꜰʟᴜɪᴅ also passed.

The expectant mother’s midwife allowed 16 hours of active labor. If things don’t change, head to the hospital. And they didn’t change: the contractions still didn’t come, and the home birth had to be canceled because of the ʀɪsᴋs.

To Lyndsey’s surprise, a huge parent tub was waiting for her at the hospital. 30 hours passed between the flow of ᴀᴍɴɪᴏᴛɪᴄ ꜰʟᴜɪᴅ and the first ᴜᴛᴇʀɪɴᴇ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴ. Although a heart monitor was immediately attached to the pregnant mother’s belly, nothing revealed that there were not one but two hearts beating inside.

The processes accelerated after the first pain: the first baby girl was born almost instantly, but the ᴘᴀɪɴs persisted, which was unusual. A significant ᴜᴛᴇʀɪɴᴇ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴ followed, and the second baby girl was born 2 minutes later. Lyndsey was beside herself.

“I was simply sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ; the staff was also sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ; and I wish there was someone to take a picture of my husband, because I am blind [without glasses] and I couldn’t see his facial expression,” said the expectant mother.

So Altice gave birth to two perfectly healthy little girls without even knowing she was expecting twins. The babies did not need any extra medical care, and what is more interesting is that their weight and height are exactly the same!

The woman is not at all disappointed that her birth plan didn’t work out, and she doesn’t regret that she never went for an ultrasound, because that’s how her story became perfect, and she considers the two babies she received from fate as an extra blessing.
