Wild newborn animals cannot live in the wild without the care and protection of their mothers.

They must contend with hunger, thirst, and threats from both nature and mankind (predators and poachers). Some children are rejected by their own moms due to their poor health. The reason for this is that they stand out from the rest of their colony. They are considered outcasts because of their skin, hair, or body patterns.

In this narrative, Dragon the newborn deer is in this situation. Because of his white piebald face and belly, the fawn is exceptionally unusual. Only around 1% of deer are born with this trait.

The lovely fawn had the same destiny as his mother, who had abandoned him. Fortunately, the deer was noticed and saved by some caring folks at Deer Tracks Junction, an animal farm in Cedar Springs, Michigan.

Dragon found a wonderful home where he spent his days. At the farm, he was shown genuine affection and attention. The young boy even became the star there.

Being a piebald, on the other hand, indicates that sections of Dragon’s body are devoid of pigmentation. He suffers from a variety of health issues as a result of this. The newborn deer’s hearing and vision aren’t as good as a mature deer’s. He also suffers from a weakened immune system.

In addition, predators in the wild can easily spot the white-faced fawn. The white areas of his body stand out like a sore thumb. To live, the priceless creature must be tough.

Dragon was unable to celebrate his first birthday due to circumstances beyond his control. Due to health issues, the lovely newborn deer died just a few days before his birthday. Deer Tracks Junction’s Hilary Powell commented on Facebook:

“Unfortunately, I never wanted to have to make this update. Despite every medical intervention, we had to say goodbye to our little Dragon. It’s been a difficult time here, and he’ll be sorely missed.”
