Kizaru might seem a little goofy, but he’s actually one of the Marines’ strongest assets.

The world of One Piece is filled with many powerful characters. These characters are blessed with different abilities that help them get the better of their opponents. As a series that is based around pirates, it is obvious that the strongest characters belong to this group. To counter the threat of the pirates, the World Government had to take drastic steps. Eventually, it led to the creation of the Marines, a powerful organization that aimed to eradicate all the pirates.

However, the number of pirates was massive, so the Marines needed a lot of strong characters. The organization recruited many individuals, but only a few managed to climb through the ranks and make a name for themselves. Out of thousands of candidates, only three are chosen to be Admirals, and they are considered to be the mightiest weapon of the Marines. Due to their powers, the three Admirals are a force to be reckoned with. Presently, the positions are occupied by Kizaru, Fujitora, and Ryokugyu. While the other two were recruited sometime during the time skip, Kizaru has been serving the Marines loyally for years. Despite being one of the few One Piece veterans, Kizaru has rarely been involved in any serious fights, leading to many debates about his power level.

The Light Human

Standing at 9’11”, Kizaru is ridiculously tall for a human being. There is no doubt that he can easily squash an ordinary human with just a regular attack. However, Kizaru’s height is not what makes him a powerhouse. Years prior to the current storyline, Kizaru ate the Pika Pika no Mi, which belongs to the elite Logia class. Like the other devil fruits in this category, the Pika Pika no Mi allows its user to avoid attacks that aren’t covered in Haki.

The reason why the Pika Pika no Mi is such a coveted devil fruit is because of its ability to manipulate light. The user can create and transform into light at will. Being a light human means that Kizaru can travel at the speed of light via reflection. Kizaru mainly uses his devil fruit to launch laser beams from his fingers, which are extremely hard to deal with. These explosions can pierce the flesh of an individual and cause them significant damage. At Sabaody, a single attack from Kizaru’s devil fruit was enough to destroy the ginormous mangrove trees. Kizaru demonstrated his immense speed when he managed to catch up to a fleeing Apoo with minimal effort. A single devil fruit-enhanced kick from Kizaru was enough to send Basil Hawkins crashing into a building, which was a demonstration of the Admiral’s power. Dr. Vegapunk has studied Kizaru’s devil fruit in detail, which allowed him to incorporate his power into the Pacifista. Clearly, the Pika Pika no Mi is a special devil fruit, which makes Kizaru a special fighter.

Where Does He Rank?

There has been a lot of discourse about Kizaru’s strength and where he stands in terms of overall power. To get a better understanding of his strength, Kizaru’s fights have to be put under the microscope. When he first appeared in Sabaody, he seemed a rather unimpressive and slow individual.But, once he confronted the members of the Worst Generation, it became clear that he was not an ordinary person. With the power of his devil fruit, Kizaru was able to defeat several Supernovas without any problems. All the onlookers were baffled by the strength of this old man, who was destroying multiple famous pirates as if it were a piece of cake. As Kizaru turned his attention to the Straw Hat Pirates, it was obvious that they were in trouble. In a few minutes, he nearly annihilated him, and they had to be rescued by Silvers Rayleigh. The Admiral and the Dark King exchanged blows for a while, but the Marine admitted that he needed support to take in Rayleigh. During their fight, Rayleigh was also able to cut Kizaru, which created a small wound. The altercation between the two clearly indicated that Rayleigh is stronger than Kizaru.

In The Final War Kizaru’s next big fight came during the Summit War arc, when the Whitebeard Pirates tried to prevent Ace’s execution. In the war, Kizaru fought against Marco and Whitebeard. Kizaru used his devil fruit to attack Marco, but none of them had any effect on the pirate. When Marco kicked Kizaru, the Admiral was sent flying into a wall. Kizaru didn’t technically fight Whitebeard, but he did attack the Yonko from afar with his devil fruit. Based on his fights so far, Kizaru is above the first Yonko commander level. While Marco and Rayleigh also used to be right-hand men, but their feats are incredible, which puts them above the regular Yonko commanders.Role In The Story

Kizaru’s involvement in the series has been very limited, but with One Piece heading into the final saga, he will definitely see more screen time. Recently, it was confirmed that Kizaru is on his way to Egghead Island. This means it will be the second consecutive arc where an Admiral has gotten involved with the story. Kizaru has been ordered to back up CP0 as they try to assassinate Dr. Vegapunk. Kizaru follows orders most of the time, but it will be interesting if he has a change of heart after seeing Sentomaru’s condition. The two seem to share a close bond, but would it be enough to force Kizaru to go against Akainu’s orders? For now, the answer to the question remains unknown.
