Elizabeth Olsen is a ray of sunshine in a bright yellow dress with a flirty slit as she arrives to the Today show in NYC

Elizabeth Olsen stood out from the crowd in a bright yellow midi dress with black buttons while arriving to the Today show in New York City on Tuesday.

While preparing to tape an episode of NBC’s popular morning show, the actress, 34, radiated beauty as she flashed a bright smile at onlookers that crowded outside the GE Building in Rockefeller Center to catch a glimpse of her.

For the occasion, the Ingrid Goes West star sported a bright red lipstick, structured black blazer, matching high heels and her golden blonde tresses in loose waves.

During her interview, alongside costar Love and Death costar Jesse Plemons, the younger sibling of twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen discussed taking on the role of real-life axe murderer Candy Montgomery for HBO Max’s true-crime series.

When asked how she got in the mindset of a ‘cold’ killer, Elizabeth said she used John Bloom book, Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs as her ‘main resource.’

‘It’s the only interviews that the woman, Candy Montgomery, actually participated in after her trial,’ she continued. ‘So it is really the only source that I have that gives me an understanding of who she is and how she was raised.’

The performer, best known for her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff/ Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, then hilariously quipped: ‘I don’t know, playing characters that make questionable decisions is something I actually enjoy!’

Plemons, who is married to actress Kirsten Dunst, reflected on the ‘added pressure’ of playing a real person, which he believes must be an ‘unusual feeling.’

Elizabeth said working with the Emmy winner was ‘great’ and that they ‘luckily’ had a bit of rehearsal time, which she called a ‘luxury’ to ‘really discuss’ everything they needed to before shooting.

‘We were kind of getting to know each other as actors and people while are characters were just beginning their affair’, she joked.

When asked if viewers should expect to see more of her as the Scarlet Witch anytime soon, Elizabeth was careful with her response.

‘It’s a hard question for me to answer because I feel like more words are twisted every time I answer it,’ she admitted.

She then stated that she ‘hopes so’ but ‘I have no idea.’

‘When I say that, it’s not because I have a loaded answer…it’s because I mean it on face value,’ she insisted.

When asked if they had started shooting anytime, Elizabeth replied: ‘Absolutely not!’

She also said she had not even seen a script and has ‘no contract’ on the next project yet.

Her show, Love and Death, which follows the true tale of Candy Montgomery, a Texas housewife who murdered her church friend Betty Gore with an axe in 1980, comes out April 27.

Despite overwhelming evidence against her, Montgomery was acquitted of the murder charges, with the jury believing she acted in self-defense.

The Texas Monthly articles, which debuted in 1984, would ultimately reveal that Montgomery was having an affair with Gore’s husband before killing Betty with 41 blows from an axe.

The 1984 book Evidence of Love was previously adapted into the 1990 TV movie A Killing In a Small Town, which won Barbara Hershey both a Golden Globe and Emmy for playing Candy Morrison, based on Candy Montgomery.

‘This is a gripping story about the frustrations and desires of two women in a small town that culminates in a terrible act of violence, said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max, in a statement.

Just last year, Jessica Biel took on the role of Montgomery on Hulu’s series, Candy.
