Man United are ‘preparing to overhaul the club’s Carrington training complex this summer with a new wellness suite for yoga part of their plans’ after Cristiano Ronaldo’s brutal assessment of the base in his interview with Piers Morgan

Manchester United are preparing to invest millions to convert their Carrington training complex into a new top-tier, luxury facility.

The club’s planned expenditure comes in response to Cristiano Ronaldo‘s shocking departure that saw the superstar slate United’s owners, first-team manager Erik ten Hag, and the team’s training facilities.

A huge summer overhaul will see the 13-time Premier League champions bring Carrington up to scratch in a bid to aid Ten Hag in his bid to re-instate United as title contenders.

Renewed investment in the 108 acre property will see Carrington add new features to the existing development, including a state-of-the-art wellness retreat, according to The Sun.

Former star Ronaldo claimed that the complex hadn’t changed since he first left United to join Real Madrid in 2019, telling Piers Morgan: ‘Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed.

‘He [Ferguson] knows better than anybody that the club is not on the path they deserve to be. He knows. Everyone knows.

‘The people who don’t see that… it’s because they don’t want to see. They are blind. Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed,’ he added.

United have failed to win the Premier League departure since Sir Alex Ferguson retired from management in 2013.

In contrast, derby rivals Manchester City have won five top-flight during the same time period, relying on their world-leading training facility to enhance the club’s development.

City splashed out £200m on their training complex that boasts over 16 pitches, including a full-size synthetic indoor surface, TV auditorium for analysis, four-star overnight accommodation, amongst with numerous other elements.

It is yet to be seen whether the plans rely on United’s owning Glazer family’s ability to sell the club before the summer transfer window.

United is up for sale but the American owners are currently split amongst themselves on a suitable price for the club with Sportsmail revealing that some controlling parties are willing to consider bids under £5billion.

The club’s Dutch manager Ten Hag has so far thrived in his first season in charge despite seeing his funds in the January transfer market severely restricted due to the ongoing sale of the club.
