The frail 73-year-old elephant is blind and deaf, but he can’t help but be used as a labor force.

One of the most beautiful animals on the planet is the elephant. They are also among the smartest people. But we humans haven’t exactly been nice to them.

We cage them for entertainment purposes, slaughter them for their medicinal value, and hunt them for sport. Sook-Jai is one of these unfortunate elephants that was held captive by humans and forced to do many different jobs throughout his life.

It moved from job to job and belonged to many different owners. He worked tirelessly until he couldn’t take it anymore. But he finally had a chance to break free of all of that. The 73-year-old elephant was finally rescued and taken to the safety of her new home.

When they reached the park, Sook Jai lifted her trunk to sniff the new place and sent a thud out into the field, tears streaming down her face. His eyes are cloudy and his hearing is weak, but let’s hope she’s happy from here on out.
