A single mother has revealed how she became a mom of four at age 21 after she welcomed two ‘miracle’ sets of twins within two years – despite being on  ʙɪʀᴛʜ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴏʟ the second time she ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ.

Kaitlin Brooks, 21, from Arkansas, US  discovered she was expecting twins in March 2019, at the age of 19, she was thrilled. She welcomed her sons, Denver and Dayton Brooks, in October of that year. But she was stunned when just over one year later, right after the first 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day of her sons, Kaitlin discovered she was pregnant again, despite being on  ʙɪʀᴛʜ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴏʟ and she gave 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to Pierce and Piper Brooks in August 2021. Now, the mum-of-four mum claims that she’ll likely ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ twins each time she falls pregnant as she releases two ᴇɢɢsduring ᴏᴠᴜʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴ – a process known as ʜʏᴘᴇʀᴏᴠᴜʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴ. Due to this, the 22-year-old – who ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ her second set of twins while on the ᴘɪʟʟ – has vowed to eventually have her ᴛᴜʙᴇs ᴛɪᴇᴅ. But for now, Kaitlin, who described herself as ‘blessed’ to have two sets of fraternal twins, said that she’s looking into becoming a sᴜʀʀᴏɢᴀᴛᴇ to help those who are ᴜɴᴀʙʟᴇ to ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ their own 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.

Kaitlin said: ” I had two sets of twins by the age of 21. I had my first set at 19 and second at 21. I feel that what’s happened is a miracle because for the longest time I didn’t think I could get pregnant. My doctor told me that every time I get pregnant it will be twins because I drop two ᴇɢɢsevery time. The boys have just turned three and the babies are one and I have four toddlers and they’re into everything. Knowing that if I fall pregnant again I’ll have multiples again is scary because I don’t see how I could do another set. I think I’m going to get my ᴛᴜʙᴇs ᴛɪᴇᴅ because I don’t want to have to worry about that happening again.” And although the single mom-of-four is on 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 control, she has debated having her ᴛᴜʙᴇs ᴛɪᴇᴅ to ensure she won’t have any more 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, since the ᴘɪʟʟ has failed her in the past.

Kaitlin said: “I found out that I was pregnant at five weeks and had my first ultrasound at eight weeks and it was twins. I was shocked. Twins do run in my family but it was way back in the day when my family had twins – my great grandmother’s sisters had twins and triplets. Denver is my ᴡɪʟᴅ 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, it seems like he doesn’t have a ꜰᴇᴀʀin the world. Dayton is more sʜʏ and he keeps to himself more, he can be like Denver sometimes because they’re always around each other but their personalities are totally different.” The 22-year-old said she gave 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 on October 29th 2019 when she was 38 weeks pregnant. Denver arrived first weighing 6lbs 10.5oz and his little brother Dayton followed eight minutes later weighing 6lbs 7.7oz. Kaitlin had a great pregnancy but had to stay in the hospital for a week after due to having ᴘᴏsᴛᴘᴀʀᴛᴜᴍ ᴘʀᴇᴇᴄʟᴀᴍᴘsɪᴀ.

She found out she was expecting again in November 2020, a month after the boys’ first 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day. After another great pregnancy, Kaitlin gave 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 to her second set of twins after carrying them for 38 weeks and five days. She had another boy, Pierce Brooks who weighed 7lbs 5oz and a girl Piper Brooks, who was 6lbs 13oz. But she returned home 24 hours after giving 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 this time around. She said: “People are very shocked when I tell them that I’ve got two sets of twins because I’m only 22. A lot of people are shocked and they’re like ‘I don’t see how you do it?’ and I was like ‘I don’t really have a choice you know, this is my life’. I’m not planning on having any more of my own 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. I’m happy with my four that I have now. I don’t know about getting it ᴛᴜʙᴀʟ ʟɪɢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ done at this age. I was looking into being a sᴜʀʀᴏɢᴀᴛᴇ because I know there’s a lot of mom’s out there that can’t carry their own, like I’ve been blessed to be able to do that and to be able to do that twice with twins. I’ve looked into that a little bit because that would be awesome. But I was just wanting to wait until the kids get older for when I did that.”
