Filming commitments took a back seat as in demand actor Chris Hemsworth enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with his loved ones on Monday afternoon.

The hunky Australian was joined by Spanish wife Elsa Pataky and their three-year-old daughter India Rose for a day out in Boston – where he is currently working on a forthcoming reboot of hugely popular comedy franchise Ghostbusters.

Chris, 32, looked relaxed in a white T-shirt and shorts as he prepared to board a small boat with his family on the city’s sprawling Charles River.

With a baseball cap pulled low over his head and heavily tinted sunglasses shielding his eyes, the actor – best known for his role as superhero Thor – appeared keen to keep a low profile during the relaxed outing.

Idling on the jetty, Chris knelt while helping India pull on and secure her infant life-jacket before gingerly climbing into the narrow pedal boat.

Looking equally low key, Elsa, 39, sported a breezy monochrome print summer dress and raffish panama hat.

The actress completed her seasonal look with a pair of appropriate sandals, while a tan leather handbag rounded things off.

Taking off, Chris and Elsa navigated their boat across the river while little India sat safely between her famous parents.

The actor is playing geeky Kevin the receptionist in a gender reversed reboot of the eighties film franchise.

He’ll star opposite an all-female lead cast of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon.

Director Paul Feig announced the casting news via Twitter in June and following his promotion of his latest comedy Vacation, the former Home And Away actor joined the girls on set.

The film is scheduled for release in July 2016.
