Birth can occur in various locations and through various methods. Occasionally, the transition from active labor to pushing happens so rapidly that there is no opportunity to remove one’s underwear.

Erin Beth: “My client had just used the restroom while the birth team was sitting on the sofa in the living room. Mom walked in, stood by the fireplace, had one contraction, and yells “catch my baby!” The midwives ZOOM across the floor just in time to lead baby earthside, through the leg hole in the underwear.”

When most people hear the phrase “birth is unpredictable” they don’t often think of this, but this is birth, in all its glory.
