Foster dad spares legless puppy, offers second chance

Nobby the puppy was born without front legs, and the vet suggested euthanizing him when he was only four hours old. However, Nobby’s owner, Lou Robinson, made a courageous decision.

Nobby faced numerous challenges from the start. He had difficulty reaching his mother to nurse, and his siblings pushed him away, preventing him from eating.

Despite the vet’s recommendation, Lou and her husband Mark chose to defy it and care for Nobby themselves. They provided round-the-clock attention, love, security, and nourishment through a bottle.

Initially, Nobby appeared to be thriving. His eyes opened, his ears developed, and he could bark, smell, and recognize voices.

However, things took a turn for the worse when Nobby was nearly one month old. He started sneezing, experienced difficulty with bowel movements, and small bubbles emerged from his nose.

An X-ray revealed an issue with Nobby’s esophagus. He was given antibiotics and placed in an incubator. The situation seemed dire, but Nobby displayed an extraordinary will and fighting spirit.

He refused to give up, and his foster parents fought alongside him, determined to give him a chance at a good life. Fortunately, Nobby’s condition improved with time. Today, three years later, he is a testament to resilience and survival.

Although Nobby faces challenges, he has proven that anything is possible. The Robinsons have even created a Facebook page to share his adventures with the world.
