After going public with the “Starboy” singer (real name: Abel Tesfaye) four months ago, things are looking serious for the couple — especially after Selena’s mom commented on the couple’s photo on Instagram.

Proving moms will be moms, Mandy wrote, “Glowing, smiling, looking health and equal love. Mama is happy,” under a photo The Weeknd uploaded on the social media platform.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the nice words and were quick to screenshot the evidence before it got lost in the comment section under a photo that has been liked over 2 million times.

However, this is a big change for Mandy, who was initially hesitant to embrace the Candian singer.

“Mandy has heard the dirty and drug-related lyrics to Abel’s songs and she doesn’t approve of Selena hanging out and partying with him,” a source told Life & Style exclusively. “Mandy has met Abel and thinks he is respectful in person, but she doesn’t think he’s a good influence on Selena.”

Selena, 24, started dating The Weeknd, 27, shortly after her stint in rehab, which may have prompted her mom’s concern about her jumping into a new relationship.

Last November, the former Disney Channel star opened up about her struggles with anxiety and depression at the American Music Awards.
