The rumors surrounding the plot of Deadpool 3’s MCU story can rectify a disappointing aspect of Loki through the utilization of the TVA.

Deadpool 3 can fix one of the disappointments stemming from Loki season 1’s story. According to various rumors surrounding Deadpool 3’s script, the film will focus on Wade Wilson coming into conflict with the MCU’s Time Variance Authority. Not only would this explain Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine after the character died in Logan – through being another variant – but it would also pave the way for Deadpool 3 to fit seamlessly into the Multiverse Saga.

By including the TVA, Deadpool 3 would become the second MCU project to do so after Disney+’s Loki show introduced the organization. While the TVA was vastly changed at the end of Loki, it is clear that the organization is still running under Kang the Conqueror, with the enemy set to appear in Loki season 2 after Ant-Man 3’s end-credit scene. That being said, the TVA’s centrality to Deadpool 3 enables the film to capitalize on an underutilized aspect of Loki’s version of the Time Variance Authority.

Deadpool 3’s Could Include Plenty Of TVA Cameos

The concept of the TVA lent Marvel all sorts of cameo opportunities, but Marvel did little to capitalize on them. After Loki episode 1 established that anyone who messes with the Sacred Timeline is taken to the TVA, dozens of ideas cropped up about which MCU characters – or their variants – could show up as potential TVA prisoners. Due to Avengers: Endgame’s ending, Captain America and Peggy Carter were among the many characters tied to the TVA by Loki’s fan theories. But in spite of all this hype, Loki was admirably more focused on its plot than fan service.

However, Deadpool 3 has the chance to include the cameos missing from Loki. While Loki focusing on the characters and plot was a smart move, the character of Deadpool leans much more heavily on connections with other characters. Similar to how the first two movies found room for other X-Men characters, Deadpool 3 could head in the same direction, albeit with an even greater library to work with. Unlike Deadpool and Deadpool 2, it’ll have multiple Marvel Comics properties to deal with, as cameos associated with the Avengers, Spider-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Daredevil, and more will all be on the table.

Deadpool’s Humor Makes More Cameos Likely

The humor in the Deadpool movies explains why the TVA has a better chance of producing cameos for Deadpool 3 than it did for Loki. Much of the comedy in his movies were driven in part by its links and references to other X-Men characters. Deadpool is a character who heavily relies on meta, fourth-wall-breaking jokes in a way that fits his comic book counterpart. This was evident in Deadpool and Deadpool 2, with many jokes being centered on the confusing timeline and multiple recastings of characters in Fox’s X-Men universe. Marvel will have an easy way of continuing this approach if it includes the TVA, especially since they’ve detained variants of an untold number of MCU heroes and villains. Story-wise, there’s few limits on who Deadpool can meet.
