Sadio Mané sends transfer message to FSG as Darwin Núñez could help Liverpool in ‘$39m’ chase

Sadio Mané may have just sent another clear transfer message to FSG, while Darwin Núñez could help Liverpool in securing an heir to Fabinho in midfield.

Even with another Premier League game in sight for Liverpool, there’s been no let-up on the transfer questions for Jürgen Klopp, especially regarding one player.

Any hopes fans might have had of seeing Jude Bellingham donning the famous red kit next season now look to be well and truly over, with Klopp seemingly confirming reports this week that the club has pulled out of the race for the England international.

With nine games still remaining this season, there is work to do for Klopp with his current group of players, although a top-four finish and subsequent qualification for the Champions League look to be out of reach.

Nevertheless, the German will no doubt have one eye on the upcoming summer transfer window, with a major rebuild in the offing after what has been a season to forget on Merseyside.

On that front, there has been no shortage of names being touted, with one $39m option suggested as a cheaper alternative to Bellingham. Meanwhile, former Liverpool player Sadio Mané may have just sent a timely reminder to the club’s owners of the work that lies ahead.

Mané sends clear transfer message to FSG

It’s been a dramatic week for Liverpool on the transfer front, and perhaps even more so for one of the club’s former players. While Reds fans were reeling from the news that Bellingham won’t be pursued this summer, Sadio Mané was getting himself into trouble with his new side.

It’s been something of a disappointing season for the Senegal international, and now he finds himself suspended by Bayern Munich after reportedly punching teammate Leroy Sané following his side’s Champions League defeat to Manchester City.

It’s certainly not the first time we’ve seen one of Liverpool’s former stars struggle after leaving Anfield, with Mané joining a long list in a trend that includes the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Philippe Coutinho. But ahead of a make-or-break summer in the transfer market, the 31-year-old has sent a clear transfer message to FSG.

Núñez can help in ‘$39m’ chase for Fabinho heir

Speaking of transfers, Liverpool of course looks set to overhaul its midfield this summer after what has been a hugely disappointing season. And given the decision not to pursue Bellingham, it looks as though it is planning on making multiple additions.

A lot of the focus will no doubt be on the box-to-box roles, given the well-documented interest in Bellingham, but the Reds could also do with strengthening their options at number six. Despite being just 29, Fabinho’s dip this campaign has been alarming enough to suggest Klopp may need to be eyeing up an heir to the Brazilian.

And recent reports have suggested Liverpool may have scouted one option already playing in the Premier League. Even more encouragingly for the Reds, Darwin Núñez might be able to help in bringing him to Anfield this summer.
