Manchester United defender Raphael Varane ordered his team-mates to applaud the away fans on Sunday.
The Red Devils were battered 7-0 at Anfield by Liverpool in the Premier League.
Despite coming into the game with an outside chance of a title challenge, United capitulated in the second half and suffered one of the worst defeats in their history.
Post-game, Varane was furious with his teammates for walking off without acknowledging the fans.
He was heard loudly through social media footage telling the players to applaud those away supporters who had stayed until the end.
Many United fans had been seen leaving the stadium after the 5th, 6th, and 7th Liverpool goals.
