PSG set Kylian Mbappe transfer price amid Real Madrid rumour

Considering how the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga turned out for Real Madrid last year, most people expected him to be never linked with the club again. Yet, here we are less than a year later, and rumours of the Frenchman potentially moving to Santiago Bernabeu are starting to pick up pace again. His contract situation is in the centre of it all.

While Mbappe did sign a bumper new deal with PSG last season, it was not a long one. It is believed that it was a two-year contract with the player having the option to extend it by another year.

That means that going into the summer, Mbappe will only have 12 months left on his contract, if he chooses to not take up the option for an extension. Thus, PSG have to consider the possibility of letting him go when the season comes to an end rather than potentially losing him as a free agent a year later.

As reported by Planeta Real Madrid, PSG are already shuffling figures for a possible transfer of Mbappe and they assure that it would be around €200 million.

In many ways, Mbappe would be the perfect signing for Real Madrid. He is the Galactico that the club have been missing since a certain Cristiano Ronaldo left in 2018.

Eden Hazard was brought in to fill in that role but we all know how that turned out. Will the club make another attempt to sign Mbappe after how things turned out the last time around?

It remains to be seen. It would certainly be a big ask to shell out a transfer fee around €200 million for someone whose contract could potentially run out just a year later. Let’s see how things turned out and what the future holds for Mbappe.
