Paris Saint-Germain vs. Bayern Munich score: Two Kylian Mbappe goals disallowed as German giants win 1-0

The Germans have all of the momentum ahead of the second leg

Kingsley Coman punished his former club once again, this time scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 victory for Bayern Munich at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16 first leg on Tuesday.

The Paris-born France international, scorer of the only goal in the 2020 Champions League final in Lisbon when these two teams met for the ultimate prize, finished a volley in the 53rd minute to give his team the advantage ahead of next month’s second leg..

Though he didn’t hit the ball as cleanly as he would have liked, Coman’s effort had a little bit of pace on it, seeing PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma completely fumble what should have been an easy save.

The Italian goalkeeper would go on to make two fantastic saves later in the half, but the damage was already done, with the PSG attack doing very little, continuing what has been a poor run of form.

The introduction of Kylian Mbappe in the second half, on the bench to start as he has dealt with a hamstring injury, saw the hosts look like a threat, something that did not happen without him. He had two goals disallowed in the second half due to being offside as the Bavarians depart the French capital with all of the momentum.

Bayern finished the match with 18 shots, double that of PSG, putting seven on frame to the Parisians’ four. The visitors were on the front-foot early with tons of possession despite not many chances, increasing their production in the final third as the game went on.

Without Sadio Mane, the team has continued to get results and are now 21 games unbeaten.
